Stayton High School Athlete of the Month for March

Daniel Odenthal is the Stayton High School Eagles Athlete of the Month! Daniel is a baseball player that is hitting over .400. He tutors younger players, is the vice president of the National Honor Society, has received the Naval ROTC scholarship, and has been accepted into MIT!

It is always tough to choose just one Athlete of the Month, but this month was extremely difficult. All of the nominees are great kids and tremendous athletes. The other nominees were:

Liam Rutherford: Liam is an accomplished tennis player. He has been a terrific mentor for some of the younger players and provides outstanding leadership for the team.

Mylie Walker: Mylie is a freshman softball player who hit over .700 while reaching base 8 of her first 10 at bats! She is a utility player that is incredibly versatile.

Lorelei Ritchie: Lorelei is a tennis player who went undefeated in her first three matches. She is tough, mentally and physically!

Haley Butenschoen: Haley is a wonderful runner who just won two different races this week at the Silverton track meet. And she is a fantastic human being!
