Supt Gardner announces his new position with Albany SD for '22-'23

Dear NSSD Families & Community Members,

Last night I was confirmed as the new Superintendent of the Greater Albany School District. I will assume the position on July 1, and will remain in the NSSD until that time. The NSSD Board will begin a Superintendent search process immediately and I of course will do all that I can to support the board in that work and effect a smooth transition once a new Superintendent is named.

The decision to leave does not come easily. I have worked in this District since 1993 and have enjoyed every job that I have held, from SHS teacher, coach & Athletic Director to Sublimity & Stayton Inter/Middle School Principal to Superintendent. I am proud of the many different initiatives we have undertaken together, and take pride in the fact that we have sustained them and made them better. It has been my honor to serve alongside some of the best educators I know and to work in a community that I love and has been my home for many years. In short, it's been fulfilling and...well, fun. My sincerest wish is that these common efforts carry on and that the District will continue to Make a Difference in Kid's Lives!.

Wishing you all the very best
Andy Gardner
