    Remember.......

Every class and grade counts. College-bound students will want to ensure that they don't get grades lower than a C in core classes such as English in order to have the best chance of getting into the college of their choice. Remember the Chemeketa Scholars program can provide two years of free tuition for students who earn an unweighted cumulative GPA or 3.5 or higher. The tracking period starts freshmen year and goes through the first semester of senior year so don't wait until 12th grade to start thinking about it! For more info, go to the Financial Aid/Scholarships page of this section.

Begin to think about the path that you/your student would like to take (ie: community college, 4-year university, job market). This will help you and your student know which classes to take in the next years.
