Technology Assistant

Matt joined the school district in 2019 with a very diverse background. Ranging from Information Technology to Producer of a local talk show. Even a video game QA tester.

He graduated college from Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts and worked as a QA Tester for video games. After that he moved back home to Oklahoma and accepted a job with a local television station as a producer for the morning talk show Good Day Tulsa. While at the station he helped usher in and upgraded their studio setup to High Defination. During that time he also attended a local tech school and started the first steps of getting into the Information Technology career path.

Matt started his I.T. career at a law firm as a Help Desk Tech and moved up to a Trainer for five years. After his son was born, he moved to a company that was closer to the house in Oklahoma and took on the job of Lead Help Desk Tech/Trainer and Junior Networking Tech for two years before moving to Oregon.

By joining the tech team at NSSD, Matt has been able to continue his growth with I.T. From networking, security, staying updated on new hardware and software and even mentoring students in the SHS IT HelpDesk elective class. Most mornings Matt can be found in his office enjoying his coffee and answering emails and helpdesk tickets. After that you’ll most likely find him at one of the schools.

When Matt’s not at work, you can often find him out exploring Oregon with his wife and son. He is an active gamer and a big fan of anything from the 80’s. His favorite band is The National. He remarks, “Every album they have released has come out during a pivotal moment in my life. They are all tied to a strong memory, whether good or bad...kind of like having my own time machine”
